CERALOG system
CERALOG Zirconium Implant System - Ceramic Excellence
Today, there is a growing demand for dentures with high aesthetic value. These focus on high biocompatibility ceramic implant solutions. The ivory one-piece CERALOG® Monobloc and the two-piece CERALOG® Hexalobe implants have outstanding aesthetic value. The system is backed by more than 10 years of clinical experience, and the high soft tissue compatibility of zirconia is widely known.
After intensive research and market monitoring, CAMLOG selected AXIS Biodental SA as a leading manufacturer of innovative zirconia implants and in 2016 acquired a stake in the company. Since IDS 2017, CAMLOG has marketed the AXIS implantation system under the CERALOG® brand.
In 2004, AXIS Biodental SA in Switzerland began basic research in the field of high-performance zirconia implants and ceramic injection molding. The first clinical trials with today’s material composition and surface texture began in 2007. Market entry began with the one-piece Monobloc implant. Since the beginning of 2013, the two-part Hexalobe implant has been gaining ground.

Implant types
HEXALOBE
The two-part CERALOG® Hexalobe implant allows the choice of screwable prosthetic solutions that exceed the limits of use of previous ceramic systems. Since the beginning of 2013, the two-part Hexalobe implant has been gaining ground.
The special feature lies in the material of the abutments. They are made of high-load PEKK plastic, which has outstanding sealing properties due to its flexibility and shows tooth-like properties in terms of effort. CERALOG® implants do not differ much from conventional titanium implants in terms of insertion.
Hexalobe implant abutment connection
Appearance, quality of life and patient satisfaction - these depend on the quality of the prosthetic components. One of the keys to the long-term stable success of prosthesis is optimal implant-abutment connection.
The CERALOG® Hexalobe connection is specially designed for the zirconium material. This special connection allows excellent rotational stability and high power transmission.
Advantages of Hexalobe implant abutment connection
- High level of user security due to the interface design
- High positioning accuracy due to minimal rotational freedom
- There is no need for an expensive impression post
- The most ideal force transmission for zirconium is when using the CERALOG® Hexalobe implant.
MONOBLOC
From implant to crown: an optimal ivory-colored design that looks like natural teeth. In addition to the two-part Hexalobe implant, the CERALOG® Monobloc implant, which heals transgingivally, is also available during the preparation of the treatment plan.
The CERALOG® implant system is easy to use thanks to the transparent surgical procedures, among other things. The ivory color (which is close to the natural tooth color) and the properties of zirconia provide excellent aesthetic results.

Material and surface texture
Y-TZP is a zirconia substance
CERALOG® implants are made of high purity yttrium-oxide stabilized tetragonal zirconia. It is produced by ceramic injection molding. To do this, not only the outer geometry but also the surface texture must be formed before sintering and HIP (hot isostatic pressing). This process does not require milling of the zirconia. Only few companies have this high level of technology.
100% Quality Control: Each implant undergoes a comprehensive load and weight check prior to packaging according to a controlled procedure.
Dual surface texture
The dual surface texture of CERALOG® combines two defined surface roughnesses on an implant without post-processing - this is unique. The enosseal area of the implant body has a roughness value (Ra value) of 1.6 μm for targeted adhesion of bone cells.
There is a lower Ra value of 0.5 μm in the neck area of the implant, which is optimized for soft tissue adhesion.
Prosthetics
CERALOG® abutment
innovative solution made of high-performance PEKK plastic
The CERALOG® implant system is available with straight and 15 ° angulated high-load poly-ether-ketone-ketone (PEKK) abutments. The abutments are fixed to the implant with a titanium or gold screw. PEKK is light in color and can be easily shaped with commercially available milling tools.
PEKK - abutment material developed for high load capacity
In the field of dentistry, the better known polyether ether ketone (PEEK) has been used for many years in the field of temporary prostheses, scanning, and impression posts. It belongs to the group of PAEK plastics (polyacrylic ether ketone). PEKK was first produced in 1962 by the chemical company DuPont, where the polymerization process was further developed in the following decades.
Later, the production of PEKK was further developed by Oxford Performance Materials and Arkema, and this raw material was introduced to the market under several brand names. The biggest advantage of PEKK over PEEK is its high slip resistance and load retention.
Healing caps
The CERALOG® Hexalobe implant kit contains a cap that must be inserted into the Hexalobe connection during healing. The implant can also be covered with a locking screw.
In both cases, open and closed healing can be used on the implant. Two different heights and two different diameters of gingiva formers and a temporary abutment are available for forming soft tissue. These components are made of PEEK and are limited in time.
Impression taking
With CERALOG® Hexalobe implants, the gingiva can be shaped with open and closed tray with the help of an impression cap or an impression post.
In the case of CERALOG® Monobloc implants, the gingiva can be shaped using an impression cap by a pick-up procedure. These abutments are made of PEEK material.
Surgery
CERALOG® Hexalobe and CERALOG® Monobloc implants are designed for transgingival healing. The 1.5 mm high area of the implant neck should be placed supraskeletally during implantation. Hexalobe implants can also be placed epicristally by using a bone profile cutter and deepening the implant bed.
Open and closed healing can be performed. The surgical tray contains all the components needed to insert the implant.
